PE News
Students in K-8 will soon begin participating in a Fitness and Nutrition Unit in Physical Education. In the nutrition portion of the unit we will be discussing healthy eating choices and eating all types of food with moderation in mind. In the Middle School we will be teaching nutrition tips for young athletes for eating before and after athletic events.
In Fitness we will be teaching students about muscular strength and endurance, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. We will breakdown each component and discuss why each is important to their daily lives. Students will participate in the Fitnessgram fitness test so that they can see which component they need to work on or what do they need to do to maintain their fitness level. The students are working towards a goal of being able to complete a fitness course during PE class.
At the end of the unit we are going to do our own North Hampton Ninja Warrior course complete with a climbing wall component as well as a cargo net, some jumping activities and a ninja warrior type arm strength course going across the gym. We are looking forward to this new unit ending and hope the students will enjoy it and become a NHS Ninja Warrior!!

Valentine’s Day K-5
Students in grades K-5 are welcome to bring Valentine cards for classmates per their teachers instructions in each individual classroom. Generally speaking, cards are considered expressions of friendship and should include all students in the classroom. Students who wish to bring Valentine Cards should bring enough for the entire class. We also prefer that cards not contain any candy. Students will be directed to take any candy home and eat it with their parents’ approval.
Winter Parent-Teacher Conferences
We will be scheduling Parent-Teacher Conferences during the week of Feb. 3, 2020. We will be offering extended hours on Wednesday, Feb. 5th. This is an early release day so conferences will be available beginning at 12:45 that day. Your child’s teacher will contact you to schedule a time.
