School and Family Parnerships at NHS

Research has shown that family engagement in schools improves student achievement, reduces absenteeism and strengthens parents’ confidence in their children’s education.  Statistically speaking, the more parents and guardians are involved in their children’s learning and development, at both home and at school, the more successful their children are as learners.  What families do at home and in the community to support their children’s learning makes a tremendous difference.

At North Hampton School, in our effort to support the learning and growth of each and every student, strong shared partnerships between home and school are essential.  We hold ourselves to be a school and staff that is welcoming and respectful of parent and guardian ideas, opinions and suggestions. We want every parent and other caregiver to feel very much a part of the school.  As the first authority on their children, parents are treated as integral members of the educational team, whose input is valued. Furthermore, at NHS, the contributions of parent and community volunteers is invaluable and a vital part of our efforts at continuous school improvement.

We have a variety of planned activities to ensure we have open and transparent communication regarding our students including curriculum nights, conferences, student demonstrations of their learning, and more.

This section of our website is full of resources we hope provide valuable information for you to use throughout the school year.
