Weekly Note from Ms. Snyder 8/31

August 31, 2020

Dear NHS Community,

I am writing to you with information and updates for the week of August 31st. As I am sure you have heard, we are back in business to have PK-Grade 5 students attend school in person or via the Remote Learning Academy (RLA)  and provide Enriched Virtual Learning for students in Grades 6-8.

Bus routes are being finalized by First Student and should be posted on our website in the two days. First Student, our transportation provider, is creating a set of routes with the names of families who signed up for bus transportation earlier this summer.

RLA

Families who signed up for the Remote Learning Academy will receive their teacher’s name and orientation information by Tuesday. Seabrook Assistant Principal Cindy Fagan will be the administrator in charge of the SAU 21 Remote Learning Academy. Each school will provide students with laptops or devices for participation. We will offer a pick up time for families who signed up for the Remote Learning Academy and Middle School families on Thursday, September 3rd from 8:00-9:00 AM or from 5:00- 6:00 PM. Please see the sample schedule for RLA and Take Home Device Agreement form.

School Based Health Information

Nurse Mara shared health protocols with staff today. We are also sharing the flowcharts for students and staff about when to stay home. Please also read the attached letter regarding pre-existing conditions in which symptoms could be similar to Covid-19. It will be important for Nurse Mara to be fully informed about allergies and other conditions. Lastly, we will be using the Pick Up Patrol health screener each day for both staff and students. Please check your Pick Up Patrol when school starts and be sure to complete it each day your child is in school.

We are looking forward to a unique and positive school year. As I know I have said before, our teachers, families, and students are a special bunch and we can support one another can as we start the school year in uncharted territory. We appreciate your continued support!

Best,

Susan
