Weekly Note from Ms. Snyder 12/23

Dear NHS Community,

I am writing to wish you a very happy holiday break. 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us and I am sure I am not alone in having higher hopes for 2021. We won’t see immediate or magical transformations, but they will come.

As you know, we plan to have Middle School students in the building one day per week beginning January 11, 2021. This means that our buses will have more students riding them. We conducted a survey to see which middle school families would elect to use bus transportation and have worked with First Student (our bus company) to add stops accordingly. Students will sit in seats alone, but there will likely not be space to seat them every other row. Please see the updated number of potential students on each bus beginning on January 11th.

If you travel out of New England during the vacation, please remember the travel quarantine rules and be sure to let Nurse Mara know if your child needs to be out due to travel quarantine or exposure. It will be important for us to do all we can to stop the spread of Covid-19 when we return from the holiday break.

We have passed the milestone of the winter solstice, so days with more light are ahead of us. Enjoy the bright joy of your children’s enthusiasm! Here’s to optimism and a brighter 2021!
