Dear NHS Community--May 28, 2021,
World Languages
We will be using next year to revisit our Spanish language curriculum and instructional delivery model. During this year and next, we elected to provide additional support in core academics in the early elementary grades in lieu of providing limited Spanish language instruction. We invite parents to complete the attached form and provide some thoughts about views on Spanish instruction at NHS. Thank you.

If your child is an RLA student, please return the NHS device to NHS by June 16th. You can ring the front doorbell and drop it off there any date that week before 3 PM.

End of Year Report Cards
Students will receive a final report card in June. Parents will once again access the report cards via the parent portal in Powerschool. We will let you know the date they will be accessible soon.
8th Grade Events
We are in the midst of planning for 8th grade graduation on June 10th. Graduation will take place outdoors on our field. We plan to have a small stage and chairs in groups of 4 for families. If students have more than 4 guests, they will need to watch from a bit farther away. We are making plans based on current state guidance for schools and are planning to require masks, unless people are 6ft apart. Graduation will begin at 6 PM on June 10th, with a rain date of June 14th.
NHS Student Government is planning an 8th grade dance on June 4th, outdoors. We have also been working to have a mini-golf day for 8th graders on June 11th during the school day...more information to follow. We plan to distribute yearbooks on Monday, June 14th. The last day of school will be June 15th, with a 12:00 dismissal. We are working on having a ‘clap out’ for the 8th graders, in which they take a last lap around the building and all students clap for them. The clapping part will likely take place outdoors.
Student Laptops and iPads
We will be collecting all student devices on the last day of school. If you have a middle school student, please be sure you have returned the laptop and the charger.
