December 22, 2021
Dear NHS Community,
With the winter solstice past us, the days are getting longer already. Hard to notice, but I know it’s true! Short days with limited sunlight will give way to longer ones so the cold nights won’t seem so long and dark. I know many of you enjoy winter sports, so the cold and snow are welcome, but I think we all benefit from light and the hope of the warm seasons to come.
I know you join me in appreciating our wonderful staff.
We wish you all a very happy holiday season filled with peace, joy, family, and friends.
Spelling Bee
We are planning our annual Spelling Bee. It is open to students in grades 4-8. Please see the flyer below.

Snow safety at school
Please be sure to send your children in with winter clothes for outdoor play. Younger students will need snow pants and boots in addition to hats and gloves when snow is on the ground. We also remind students that it is fine to play in the snow, but it is not acceptable to throw snow or ice while at recess at school. This is for safety reasons. Please remind your child of this expectation.
