April 7, 2022
Dear NHS Community,
April is Poetry Month
We are beginning the day with a poem during our morning announcements each day in April. Some are published in books and others have been written by NHS students who are reading them over the loudspeaker. Here’s one for the parents…..
An excerpt from “Parents”
By Christine Mulvihill
“Parent are always there
Always letting you know they care
In the darkness, they are the light,
They can make even the darkest days bright”

Report Cards
It’s not too late to view your child’s Trimester 2 report card in the Powerschool Parent Portal! Please contact Sue MacLaughlin in our office if you need any assistance.
The JAG Awards are back!
The awards event we’ve been waiting for is back! Students are voting on favorite categories in books and the winners will be announced at the JAG Awards ceremony on April 20th! (Raindate is April 21st.) This event also involves dressing up for the red carpet portion of the Awards ceremony. Teachers will present the winners and Mrs. McCombs and Mrs. Herlihy are working on voting and categories. Some categories from the past have been “Favorite character in a series,” “Favorite funny book,” and “Favorite Ladybug Award winning title.” Our own lovable Jaggy is sure to make an appearance too. We plan to have the red carpet outside so parents can come to take pictures of the fashion–Papparazzi and Mom-arazzi! Stay tuned and have your child look for some fancy clothes or silly clothes that seem fancy!
Teacher Appreciation Week
Don’t forget to thank a teacher during the week of May 2-6, 2022. They work very hard to provide a wonderful learning environment for all of our students!
Middle School Spring Sports
SAS Testing in May
