Weekly Note from Ms. Snyder 9/8/2022

September 8, 2022

Dear NHS Families,

We are rolling along for the 2022-2023 school year. It’s even almost School Picture Day. Our photo company, Geskus, will be here on Sept. 16 to take school pictures. You can order pictures online by following the directions on the Geskus flyer that is attached.

NHS Curriculum Night–Sept. 29th

Come learn about grade level expectations and curriculum standards on September 29th at NHS. We plan to hold the event in person. This is an evening event for parents/guardians only.  Children should NOT attend. Teachers will make a presentation for parents and parents will have time to visit the UA classrooms as well. We will post the presentations and any handouts on our website after the event for those who may be unable to attend. Here is the schedule for the evening:

5:30-6:10   Presentations in classrooms for grades PK-4

6:15-6:45   Open UA classrooms for parents to visit and ask questions (Art, Music, PE, Library, Technology, Health)

6:50-7:30   Presentations in classrooms for grades 5-8

7th Grade Trip

Our 7th graders are currently at Camp Kieve for a 3 day trip with a focus on outdoor education, environmental education, collaboration, team building, and self awareness and social awareness skills. We are very excited for this opportunity and also look forward to an 8th grade trip to Hurricane Island in May.

Meal Application

Please submit an application for free or reduced price meals at school if you think your family may qualify. It can be a huge help for families. The application is attached again here for your convenience.

Prices for the 2022-2023 school year are:

Breakfast:  $1.80  (reduced price is 30 cents)

Lunch: $3.25 (reduced price is 40 cents)
