North Hampton School

Weekly Note from Ms. Snyder 11/18/2022

November 18, 2022

Dear NHS Families,

I am pleased to inform you that North Hampton Police Officer Kyle Manlow will be spending 12 hours per month at North Hampton School per an agreement between the Police Dept., SAU 21, and the North Hampton School Board. Officer Kyle was introduced to the students and staff at our Veteran’s Day assembly and also visited each class later that morning. Officer Kyle will be getting to know students during lunch and recess times during the first 2 months and will also attend our December concerts on Dec. 7 and 14.

Middle School Leadership Projects

Our 7th and 8th graders are working on projects as part of a leadership unit of study. They have researched leaders in various areas and planned projects to implement locally. Some involve sharing expertise during school hours with younger students and others are community service projects. You may see flyers for a food drive, a raffle,  a survey, or other project in the coming weeks. Please consider supporting these student driven projects.

Holiday Assistance

As the holiday season approaches, we’d like to remind families that they can reach out to Nurse Mara if they are in need of any assistance for gifts or food. Likewise, Mara can often coordinate efforts with families who wish to donate items.

On a slightly different note, you will see a toy donation box in the lobby beginning next week. Students from Winnacunnet High School are organizing this drive for Operation Blessing, which coordinates with families within a 35 mile radius of Portsmouth and  Toys for Tots.

Nurse Needs

Our nurse’s office is currently in need of new leggings or sweatpants in any size and new socks in any size. We are also accepting donations of tissues for the nurse’s office and classrooms. Thank you.
