Dear NHS Families,
Our 8th graders are returning from their trip to Hurricane Island in Maine this afternoon. It sounds like it was a great experience staying on an island where sustainability and conservation of resources is a part of life. The island is truly off the grid. They make power with solar panels, have composting toilets, pump water from a quarry, and try to not waste a thing. Students participated in a variety of activities that required responsibility, camaraderie, scientific thinking, and kindness/inclusion. We hope it was a great 3 day/2 night trip!

Field Days
Students in grades K-4 will have Field Day on June 6. Our 7th and 8th graders will facilitate and run the activities at each station. On June 8, students in grades 5-8 will have Field Day. Their teachers will facilitate and run the activities that day.
Middle School times will be 9:00 to 1:10.
Elementary times will be 9:00 to 1:30.
Students will need to be wearing proper footwear (i.e. sneakers) during field day. If students wear crocs or sandals, they will not be able to participate in any of the activities. For the elementary and middle school field days, students should bring a beach towel that can be used to sit on during breaks and some activities will require the use of a beach towel.
Seat Belt Safety
North Hampton police will be more visible at drop off and pick up from May 15-June 4, for this annual safety campaign. The police will be conducting seatbelt checks. As a community partner, the goal is to educate and not issue any summonses.
