Dear NHS Families,
We have two concerts next week: Band Concert at 6:00 PM on June 5 and Chorus Concert at 6:30 PM on June 7. We have Field Day planned for grades K-4 on June 6th and for grades 5-8 on June 8. The forecast doesn’t look great, but we are hoping for two “dry enough” days. Please be sure to send your child with sneakers, a beach towel, and a water bottle on Field Day. I’d remind you about sunscreen and insect repellent too, although it doesn’t look like a very sunny week at this point.
Grade 8 Dance–June 2 from 6:00-8:30 PM
This dance is for our 8th graders only. They are very excited for their last middle school dance. We thank the parents who have worked to make it special for them. Please note the new end time of 8:30 PM.

Looking ahead to 23-24
As we wind down the school year, we are also making plans for next year. There is an annual re-registration process in August in Powerschool via the Parent Portal. Parents are required to log in and update information and emergency contacts annually. We also update proof of residency and collect annual physicals from the following grades.
Students entering grades 3 and 6 will be mailed a Proof of Residency form in June. To be returned completed with a document establishing residency
Students entering grades 4 and 7 will need to provide an up to date physical and immunization record. They should be emailed to smaclaughlin@sau21.org
ALL returning students will need to complete the returning student paperwork in the parent portal, once open, in August. The home room teacher assignment will be emailed to the family within 48 business hours after completing the online paperwork IF all other paperwork is also complete at that time.
Retirees
This year, we wish a very happy retirement to our office assistant Maribeth Driscoll. Maribeth has helped parents, students, and staff at NHS for 25 years. Her knowledge of the school and the community has been an invaluable asset. We will miss her sense of humor and keen organization for sure.
We also wish a very happy retirement to special education teacher and case manager, Cindy Dixon. Cindy has worked at NHS for over 30 years helping students and families.
