Dear NHS Families
I hope you are enjoying the summer with your children. We are pleased to announce that Allison Duffield is our new administrative assistant in the main office. Allison is taking over for Maribeth Driscoll, who has retired after 25 years of service to our school. Allison has been working at NHS as an EA in kindergarten. I know you will join me in welcoming Allison to our school office.
Our staff are busy cleaning the building and getting ready for the new school year. In anticipation of the start of school in August, I have a few reminders. We are collecting updated physical exam records for students in grade 4 and grade 7. Please be sure to mail or email these records to smaclaughlin@sau21.org in our office as soon as you can. We are also asking for updated proof of residency for students in grade 3 and grade 6.
The parent portal in Powerschool will open on August 7th for parents to update information and provide annual permissions for things like photo/video permission, permission for the nurse to adminster tylenol or benadryl if needed, acknowledgment of our Internet Acceptable Use Policy, acknowldegment of our family handbook, permission for walking field trips and maybe a few more things. Once you have updated your child's emergency information, completed permissions and acknowledgments, and sent in the above mentioned documents if your child is in one of those grades, our office will contact you with the name of your child's homeroom teacher.
Please mark your calendars for the first day of school on August 29, 2023. (Please note that kindergarten classes begin on August 31, 2023. We use the first two days to conduct kindergarten screening by appointment. Kindergarten families will be contacted with the screening appt. time shortly.)
The Back to School Open House will take place on August 28, 2023 from 4-6 PM. PAL is sponsoring the Kona Ice Truck and families will be able to visit their child's classroom. More information will follow in August.
