Weekly Note from Ms. Snyder 3/7/2024

March 7, 2024

Dear NHS Families,

We spring forward into Daylight Savings Time this weekend! I hope you all enjoyed the vacation week. It feels like we are ready for spring!

Town Election Day–March 12, 2023

Please remember that there is no school on this day. It will be a teacher professional day. Among the school budget items is a warrant article supporting our EA’s new contract. Their union is called SESPA and you will see it on the warrant article. A ‘yes’ vote ensures they get a much needed pay increase. You can also vote for School Board candidates and other town offices.

Monthly newsletter from our School Psychologist

This month’s newsletter from Haleigh Hutcheson has to do with chronic absenteeism and its effects.

PAL Fundraiser

PAL meeting Wednesday, March 20 at 6pm in the NHS library

Communication from school–please read

Please see the attached flyer to opt in for text message communication from our school. We will be trying to send text messages for notifications that are time sensitive, like when we find out a bus is running late. School messenger requires that parents opt in to receive text messages. Please see the flyer and use the QR code to opt in if you wish to receive text messages. Thank you.

Maple Sugaring Time

Our 4th graders have been tapping maple trees and boiled their sap yesterday yielding a banner amount of sweet maple syrup (104 ounces)! Thank you to our 4th grade teachers, Linda Donohoe and Karen Haas, and all the volunteers who helped make this possible!

Message from North Hampton Public Library

The North Hampton Library staff asked us to send this information out to parents. They love having your children visit the library, but also need to enforce their policies so that the library is a safe and happy place for all visitors. Please read it carefully and check out their policy on children in the library.

Children under the age of eleven (11) may not be left unattended at the library unless that child is attending a library program that specifically states that participating children do not have to have a parent in attendance with them. A child is unattended if a parent is not present with the child at all times while in the library.

At the discretion of a parent, a child aged eleven (11) to thirteen (13) may be left unattended for up to 2 hours as long as the child knows how to reach a parent in case the need arises. Children may not be left longer than two hours; the library does not provide child care services.
