Over the past 12 years the facility has undergone extensive interior and exterior upgrades.
Energy Reduction
Installed motion sensor lighting along with converting from T12 to T8 fluorescent tubes. LED lighting is in the Cafeteria, Gymnasium, Exterior Building Walls and the Parking Lot. We replaced all HVAC Unit Ventilator valves with energy efficient actuators. Our dual circuit pumps are controlled by 2 variable frequency drives. We installed CO2 sensors in our gym and cafeteria in 2013. We converted from Oil fuel to Natural Gas during the summer of 2018. We have expanded our ground well to provide the irrigation system to the front of the school eliminating town water usage to maintain our lawn care needs.
Exterior Projects
Roof replacement above the East side of the school (L Shaped) in 2008. Roof replacement above the Front of the school in 2010. Roof replacement above the East side of the Cafeteria in 2012. Roof replacement above the Gymnasium in 2015. Roof replacement above the Library & Band Room 2017. The exterior brick and concrete block has been repointed, grouted and sealed. Concrete repairs were done at our loading dock. Painting has been done on our exterior fascia trim, cupola and exterior doors. The Gym HVAC RTU had a major upgrade by replacing decayed insulation. We upgraded our septic system pumps and septic piping from 4” cast iron to 6” SCH 80 in various sections. Asphalt paving projects were done to the large West side parking lot and the Courtyard/Playground area.
Interior Projects
Painting is performed each summer in a large section with a 6 year cycle plan. New carpeting was installed in the Chorus Room and Library. The Sound System and Lighting for school plays, concerts and drama productions was upgraded. 64 Surveillance cameras have been added throughout the years. We currently have 43 interior and 21 exterior cameras.
During the summer of 2013 the school underwent a $1.1 million renovation consisting of added security surveillance cameras, renovating all restrooms, energy efficient exterior windows and modernizing 3 science classrooms. This project was overseen by (BPS) Bonnette, Page & Stone Corp.

Our lawn care is being maintained with organic treatments. Our cleaning chemicals used in the school are green seal and environmentally friendly products.
