General Music
Mr. Singer & Ms. Schmardel
In K-5 general music, students will sing songs, play instruments such as recorder and percussion, and create their own music. Students will learn how to read, play, and sing pitch and rhythm, which are the foundational building blocks for the study of music. Students may elect either band and/or chorus in 5th grade to continue their study of music and explore advanced topics such as sight reading and basic music theory. Studying music helps students develop a better understanding of music and how it relates to their everyday lives. Let's have fun making music together!
